Travel Guide and helpful tips

Booking Flights
LAX-SJO direct flights
These airlines have nonstop flights from Los Angeles to San Jose
- American Airlines
- United
- Jetblue
- Delta
nonstop flight duration ranges from 5hrs to 5 hrs 15 mins
*** red eye flights departing on say monday at 12:35 AM are actually departing on SUNDAY and arrive the next day so make sure you know when your flight is leaving (trust me many have learned this the hard way)
*** you should be able to find flights between $400-$500
– there are connecting flights from SJO to Quepos which would be like taking a flight from LAX to Burbank…I don’t recommend it but that’s up to you.

+++ IF YOU ARE VACCINATED YOU WILL STILL NEED TO HAVE A HEALTHPASS
TRANSPORTATION
It is a good idea to rent a car with 4×4 so you can explore as you wish.
If you want to have a car while you are in Costa Rica we recommend our friend Byron.

***Just let me or Anael know your plans and we will connect you with him and let him know you are friends of Liz and Anael and he will take great care of you.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you DO NOT rent a car thru the usual companies (hertz, budget, etc…they charge huge fees for “insurance” once you are there and its too late to change plans)
There are a few tolls so be prepared for that
You can take the bus from the Tracopa Station at Plaza Viquez (Calle 5 and Avendia 20) in San Jose for $9. At 6:00am and 3:00pm its a 5-6 hour travel time via Route 34 and Route1.
Tel. 2223-5567
There are private bus shuttle services for an about $78 per person with
Interbus and GreylineC

Flying into San Jose Costa Rica is the easiest way
Take a trip, to the Sacred Garden…
We are happy to invite you to come experience and imagine the possibilities of our dream vision for this magical oasis that we call The Sacred Garden.
Well, first, we want you to pack your imagination and bring it with you because when you get to S. G. Your gonna wanna put those goggles on and Imagine what it’s going to look like. Tho you will probably still love it as it is, it’s just like looking at a diamond in the rough! What we have in store for this property is exquisite!
So, really, first, find a ticket to San Jose, Costa Rica (SJO)
2nd, you don’t need much close. Aside from travel clothes, you just need shorts and flip flops or a bathing suit and beach dress. You DO want water shoes! You do want hacking shoes. Sneakers are fine. You do want a hat.
Waterproof anything is awesome or just a bag where you can put it all into.
Once you arrive at the airport, you could get picked up by a rental car or a driver. (Same person) if you want to drive or be driven is up to you. If you want a car once you land in Dominical then that’s an option as well. If you would rather not have to drive, we can pick u up in Dominical to go see the property and you can stay in the little town and not have to drive.
It’s probably a good idea to go see the property the day after you arrive. It’s, a long day to do it all at once. 11am is about the latest we would want to start the tour. It’s good to have a hearty breakfast and an early dinner so we don’t have bring food tho bring snacks is always smart.
Note: when traveling in groups it’s always good to give yourselves extra time. So if you are staying in Dominical, give an hour of travel to the property.
There’s tons of options on the way back to eat. Tho if u hold on we can get coconut fish at the newly remodeled Tortilla Flats in Dominical! Then get a drink at Fuego and another at Rio Lindo.
Next day, it’s waterfall time. We’ll go back about 10-15 minutes passed the property and spend the day at the Majestic waterfall, Eco-Chontales! One of the greatest attractions hin the region. There’s a small hike to get there and there’s a restaurant with bathrooms all the way down by the river. It’s perfect!

Entrance fee and opening times Eco Chontales waterfall
Pro tip … don’t try to order ahead on the meal
The entrance fee for visiting Eco Chontales waterfall is 3000 colones per person.
The opening times for Eco Chontales waterfall are from 8.30 AM until 4 PM.
the walk down takes about 10 – 15 minutes depending on your speed. On the way back it can take a little longer as you will have to conquer the steep steps. The more rain the wilder the waterfall will be. This can affect your experience as with more water there will also be more spray coming from the waterfall. Swimming in the pool then can also be more dangerous. However there are always life guards around, so listen to their advice.
We can also get fresh tilapia for diner after at the Rana Roja. They also have cabins there and a great swimming hole so if you don’t want to travel back and forth, you can stay really close to us!
